FAQs
Do I need to register for upcoming events?
Not formally through Zoom, no. For all our upcoming community events, there will be a monthly Zoom link.
For anything that does require an RSVP (such as to have your writing workshopped by an instructor), we’ll share a Google Doc.
Where can I find recordings of past workshops?
These will appear when they’re ready in the Course Library.
If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to post it in the General Discussion section, or contact Support.
How can I access the member discount?
To take $47 off any multi-week Writers.com course, add the course to your cart by selecting “Enroll Now,” then check out at writers.com/checkout-special with code COMMUNITYMEMBER
The member discount is cumulative with other discounts, like our Early Bird discounts, so use freely!
If I share my work in the Writers.com community, is it considered a prior publication?
Sharing work in the Writers.com community does not typically constitute prior publication. Our space is login-protected, not indexed by search engines, and functions as a workshop and feedback environment — comparable to sharing drafts in any private writing group. That said, if you’re submitting to a journal with an unusually strict policy, you can always disclose that the piece was shared in a private workshop setting and let the editors decide. Key factors in their decision may be whether or not the piece was shared in whole or in part, and if the draft has undergone revision after it was posted.
How can I manage my Writers.com account, saved payment methods, etc.?
Here’s the link for that: https://writers.com/my-account/.
How can I change or cancel my membership?
You can control your membership at https://writers.com/my-account/subscriptions. If you’re logged in here, you should be logged in there (and vice versa). If you have any trouble, please email us at writers@writers.com.
